Disney Parks Blog has released more information on the upcoming Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. I’ll summarize it below, or you can read it directly from the source here. While there will be some things missing, all in all it feels like it will be a fairly full festival this year.
I’ll start with the topiaries and gardens. While the post does not mention how many topiaries we can expect, we did learn about a few that we will see. According to the post, “Highlights will include Remy in the France pavilion, Tinker Bell and the Fairy Houses in the United Kingdom, Lady and the Tramp in Italy and Sorcerer Mickey at the park’s reimagined main entrance.” There will also be 20 gardens for you to enjoy. This includes the Self-Guided Tea Tour in the United Kingdom Pavilion. The Goodness Garden Butterfly House will also return. I was sure that we wouldn’t see it this year, so I’m glad that I was wrong. Don’t miss Health Full Trail Presented by AdventHealth, which will teach you and your family ways to stay healthy.
Since it’s the Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, there of course need to be special food offerings. There will be 20 Outdoor Kitchens for the festival this time around. The menus have not yet been released, I’ll add them to Disney Over 50 when they are.
Sadly (but not surprisingly) there will be no Eat to the Beat Concerts this year. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be any entertainment. Voices of Liberty and Mariachi Cobre will continue to rotate performances in the America Gardens Theater. The Epcot Pianist will perform in World ShowPlace. We’ll also be treated to Jammin’ Gardeners, I’m assuming that they will be found in Canada.
There will be two scavenger hunts during the festival, although one is a limited time offering. Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration will run the whole festival. It’s usually fairly easy to find Spike, and it’s a good opportunity to explore the gardens as well. For the Easter Season the Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt returns. That will run only from March 19 until April 4.
Of course there will be festival exclusive merchandise for sale. You’ll find Orange Bird, Spike the Bee, Figment, and Minnie Mouse featured. I’m sure we’ll learn more once we’re closer to opening day.
The Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will begin on March 3, and it will run all the way to July 5. That’s over four months of beauty and extra foods! This is not a special ticketed event, your theme park ticket will get you in. Don’t forget to make your Disney Park Pass Reservation early, especially on the weekend. This is my favorite festival, and we were cheated last year. I can’t wait to experience it again.
