As you probably know, both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida have been canceled. That doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy some “wicked” good fun and roller coasters at the same time. Two other area parks are going to still hold modified versions of their Halloween events.
I’ll start with SeaWorld Orlando. SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular will start on September 19, and it will run on Saturdays and Sundays through November 1. This is fun for the whole family, it’s not scary at all. There will still be a Trick or Treat Trail. You can also expect dressed up characters, socially distanced, of course. Costumes are encouraged for all ages, although only those 12 and under are allowed to wear costume masks or hoods. The best part of all is that SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular is included in your theme park admission! Reservations are required. If you plan to go, make sure you check ticket prices online. There are often some really good deals that are available only on the website.
The second Halloween event is a little bit outside of the Orlando area, but not too far. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced the return of Howl-O-Scream. It will start on September 25, and run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings through November 1. Howl-O-Scream was not created with the littlest ones in mind. There will be no scare houses this year, and the scare zones will all be open aired. Fiends Show will take place at the outdoor Festival Field Stage, and seating will be marked. This one is a separate ticketed event, the price starts at $29.99. Again, buy online to save. Reservations are required for this one as well.
There’s one interesting observation about these two parks that has nothing to do with Halloween. I noticed SeaWorld Orlando still has SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration listed on its website. It says that it will begin on November 21. Christmas Town has almost been removed from the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay website. It’s still there, but I had to use the search feature to find it, and there is no new information. It is not on the Busch Gardens calendar. Neither of these things mean anything, it’s just an observation.
