I love living in Florida for many reasons. The main reason is because I hate snow. That aside, another one of my favorite things about living here is the fact that there are plenteous Florida Resident Discounts. I love my Florida Resident Annual Pass for Walt Disney World, but that doesn’t work for everyone. For those who aren’t looking for a yearlong commitment, a new Florida Resident ticket is now available.
The new option is called the Discover Disney Ticket. Florida Residents can buy a three day ticket for $175, which breaks down to $59 per day! The four day ticket is $195, or $49 per day. Keep in mind that these prices do not include tax. The tickets also do not include Park Hopper, but that can be added.
The Discover Disney Tickets are good through June 30, 2020. They do not need to be used consecutively, and they will not expire two weeks after the first use. That means that you can save one day for March 4, which is when Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens, and use another at Epcot to see Rick Springfield on April 19! Just don’t take my seat, but you can save me one if you want.
Another thing that is nice about these tickets is that there are no blockout dates. Many of the Florida Resident Annual Passes are blocked out on the busier days to keep the crowds down. If you have a pass that does have blockout dates, you might want to use this in conjunction with it. That would still cost less than a higher level pass if there are only a few extra days that you want to add.
In order to be eligible for the Discover Disney Tickets, you need to show proof of Florida residency. Please don’t try to cheat the system. I’ve seen people attempt to “prove” that they live here when they don’t, and the Cast Members already know all the tricks. That said, you might want to consider doing what my family and I did and making Florida your home. Having grown up in New England, I can’t tell you how nice it is to not have to worry about snow…
