Rock the Universe is an annual Christian concert series that takes place at Universal Orlando Resort. It used to be held in September on the same weekend that Night of Joy would take place at Walt Disney World. Night of Joy has since been cancelled (after over 25 years). Universal has since moved Rock the Universe to early in the year, which allows them to have additional time for Halloween Horror Nights. In 2019 it was held in February. In 2020, it will take place January 24 and 25.
The artists for the upcoming Rock the Universe have been announced. Scheduled to perform on Friday, January 24 are I Am They, Unspoken, We Are Messengers, Bethel Music, TobyMac, and Chris Tomlin. Scheduled for Saturday, January 25 are The Afters, Tedashii, Tauren Wells, Tenth Avenue North, Newsboys, and Switchfoot. Remember that artist can and sometimes do change.
If they continue they way that they have in past years, there will be two stages at Rock the Universe, so two bands might be performing simultaneously. The year that I attended there was also a smaller stage with artists who were not included on the website. One unique part of Rock the Universe is that in the past there have been meet and greets with the bands. That usually does not happen at theme park music festivals.
Rock the Universe is a separate ticketed event. You can purchase a one evening ticket, or one that will get you in both days. It’s a popular event for youth groups, and group tickets are available. You can learn more information here.
