Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is scheduled to open on August 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The California version has been open since the end of May, and Disney has been keeping a close eye on how things are going there. Even though the crowds haven’t (yet) been quite as large in California as originally feared, there are three non-ride aspects of the new land that have proven to be incredibly popular. Because of this, Disney has taken a not totally unexpected step for the Florida version.
Reservations are now being accepted for Oga’s Cantina, Savi’s Workshop, and Droid Depot. You can make the reservations through the Walt Disney World website. Supposedly they can also be made through the My Disney Experience App, but I haven’t been successful with that at all. In my opinion, your best bet is to just click the links above. You can also go to the Galaxy’s Edge page on the Walt Disney World website. You might be placed in a queue to wait, because the reservations are going fast.
If you can’t grab a spot for the day that you want, don’t give up. There will be people who will cancel the closer it gets to their reservation so that they won’t be charged. You can make reservations for all three experiences 180 days out. Remember that the second ride within Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, is going to open on December 5. If you plan to visit around then, you might want to make your reservations for the rest sooner rather than later.
