A Quick Rundown of What You Can Do With the My Disney Experience App

The My Disney Experience App opens Walt Disney World to you

You’ll hear me talk here quite a bit about the My Disney Experience App. It is a free tool that will make your Walt Disney World experience go so much smoother. The app gives you easy access to your My Disney Experience Account. You can download it for most cell phones or tablets, but it might not be supported by some older devices. One quick word of warning; the app tends to drain your battery, so make sure that you close it after you’ve used it.

There is A LOT that you can do on the My Disney Experience App, and Disney is working to make even more features available. Here are a few of the highlights.

Make Reservations

Make dining reservations

You can use the My Disney Experience App long before you leave home. Use it to make your dining reservations up to 180 days in advance. You can also book your FastPass+ from the app.

More FastPass+ Choices

Make FastPass+ reservations

If you need to make changes to your FastPass+ reservations, you can do that from the app. When you’re in a park if you’ve used all three selections and want to make a fourth, use the app for that as well. You’ll be eligible for a fourth choice as soon as you’ve used the third one, so you can make the reservation while waiting in line.

Check Wait Times

Check Wait Times

When you’re in a park, you’re going to want to have an idea of how long a wait will be before you head to the other side. The My Disney Experience App has the current Wait Times, and they’re the most accurate ones that you will find.

Look for Characters

Find characters

Character meet and greets should be a part of any Walt Disney World vacation, no matter what your age. The My Disney Experience App has the characters and their locations for each park. If you’re trying to get all four versions of Mickey, or if you’re looking for a warm hug from Olaf, you will easily find where to go.

Check the menus

My Disney Experience is handy when it comes to where to eat. Not only can you make dining reservations, but you can look at menus for both table service and counter service restaurants. If you’re in a hurry, you can also use Mobile Ordering at many restaurants. Just place your order and follow the prompts, and when you’re ready to eat let them know through the app. Your food will be ready quickly, and you won’t have to wait in another line.

Find your PhotoPass photos

Pictures are a great way to remember your vacation for years to come. If you use PhotoPass, your pictures will be available to view on the My Disney Experience App. Just have the PhotoPass photographer scan your MagicBand and they will show up in the app. It usually only takes a few minutes, but occasionally it could be a few hours or even the next day. If you didn’t scan your MagicBand, you can link photos through the app. If you don’t have a MagicBand, there’s a code you can use on the app.

Check times for shows

If you want to catch a show, check the My Disney Experience App to see when it will take place. This includes the large shows such as Festival of the Lion King and smaller street shows like Sergio. Knowing when and where the shows will take place makes it easier to plan.

Guest Services

Scroll through Guest Services when you first download the app

Want to find the nearest ATM? Did your grandchild lose his stuffed Dumbo? Need to charge your phone and aren’t sure where to buy a portable charger? All these things and more can be found under the Guest Services tab. When you download the app, take a quick glance at the Guest Services information so you’ll know what you can find there.

Find the nearest restroom

No one wants to waste precious moments of their vacation looking for the nearest restroom. Not a problem, just open the app and you’ll find what you’re looking for.

There are many other things that you can do with the My Disney Experience App as well, but these are the features that you will probably use the most. With My Disney Experience, you’ll have control of your vacation in the palm of your hand.

Update: You can now check bus times as well!
