Halloween Horror Nights has been canceled for 2020, but that doesn’t mean there won’t still be scares at Universal Orlando Resort. There will be special offerings at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Universal is testing the experiences this coming weekend, September 19 and 20. There is no word on what the future schedule will be.
I’ll start at Universal Studios. There are going to be two haunted houses this year. The first will be Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives, and the second Revenge of the Tooth Fairy. A virtual queue will be used to keep capacity at the two houses under control. Haunted houses are intended to scare, and are not recommended for anyone who is younger than 13 years old.
Over at Islands of Adventure, the 12 and younger crowd will be able to trick or treat! Pick up a free trick or treat bag, then look for the pumpkin stickers at the entrance of each participating location. You must use the bag provided, and you can visit each location only once. Trick or treating is strictly for kids 12 and under, and they must be accompanied by an adult.
Costumes are also allowed during the special fall event. Costumes must follow the guidelines on the Universal Orlando Resort website. Costume masks are not allowed, but face masks are still required.
If you are a Premier Passholder, you are eligible for a special preview of the two haunted houses. That will take place on Friday, September 18. Registration for the preview will open on September 16 at noon. Space for the preview is limited.
