One of the most important things to have on your Walt Disney World vacation is water. It can be hot and humid no matter when you visit, you will do a lot of walking, and the Florida sun will take a lot out of you. If you don’t stay hydrated, you could end up sick. Water is the best drink to keep you hydrated, but at $3.50 for a bottle of Dasani, well, that will quickly add up.
The good news is that you do not have to buy water at Walt Disney World. You have a couple of options. The first is what I usually do. The quick service restaurants will give you a cup of ice water for free, all that you need to do is ask. You do not need to order anything. Many of the restaurants have the cups already filled, and a Cast Member will grab you one. If the restaurant has Mobile Ordering, ask at the pick up counter for a cup of water and you most likely won’t have to wait. If you want water at a place that is self-serve for drinks and has cups like Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, go ahead and get it yourself.
Some people don’t like to ask at a restaurant for water if they aren’t ordering anything, but there is another money saving solution. There are plenty of water fountains at Walt Disney World. Use them often. You can also bring an empty bottle (no glass) or travel mug into the park with you and fill it up from time to time. Look for a water fountain that is not in the direct sun. A fountain in the sun can be hot, especially if no one has used it in a little while.
If you don’t like the taste of the water at Walt Disney World, consider buying a water bottle with a filter before you leave home. That could help with the problem. If you only like drinking bottled water, head to a nearby store and pick up some yourself. You can buy a case of Dasani for the same amount that you would pay for a couple of bottles in a park. If you don’t have access to a car, you can have water delivered to your hotel. There could be a fee, but it will still save you money in the long run. A little bit of savings here and a little more there will make a big difference in the overall cost of your vacation.
