Sunday Savings Series: Jurassic Haunt at Dinosaur World Florida

The curse has been unearthed!

Dinosaur World in Plant City, Florida, is a fun place to spend a day outside of the Disney Bubble. It’s perfect for families with dinosaur obsessed kids, or for adults who want to do something different and stress-free. But that’s not what I want to talk about today.

One of many photo opportunities

For the first time ever, Dinosaur World is holding an after hours event. Since we’re in October it’s Halloween themed. It’s called Jurassic Haunt, and the price is so low that I’m including it as part of my Sunday Savings Series.

Yoda on his leash

My family and I were hosted for Jurassic Haunt on Saturday, October 5. When I say family, that includes our dog, Yoda. Dinosaur World is always dog friendly, as long as the dog is well behaved and kept on a leash.

I guess no one is phoning home…

Jurassic Haunt is a great event for any age. It is not scary at all, the gravediggers at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are spookier. That’s one of the things that I enjoyed about Jurassic Haunt. There’s no blood, gore, fake fog (that stuff makes me cough!) or people jumping out at you. You can enjoy your surroundings at your own pace.

Dinner time!

There are plenty of skeletons at Jurassic Haunt. Some of the skeletons are being eaten by dinosaurs, while others are in comedic scenes. There are several different zones that you’ll walk through. They are all well lit. We were informed when we arrived that there were some parts of Dinosaur World that were closed off because there was no lighting in those areas.

Haunted Train Ride

Another fun part of Jurassic Haunt is the Haunted Train Ride. Again, it’s not scary, but it is cute. We talked to a lot of kids and they had a great time on the train.

One of several zones

There is also extra food for sale, and a bar for the adults. Kids are encouraged to dress in costume, and a few adults did as well.

Another zone

Now here’s the best part of Jurassic Haunt; the price. It costs only $15 per person! Kids two and under are free. And if you attended Dinosaur World during the day, your day ticket will get you in for the event that night. You can purchase tickets here.

Even skeletons need to take baths!

The inaugural Jurassic Haunt at Dinosaur World was a lot of fun, and I can see this event growing and becoming even better in future years! The dates are October 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26. It runs from 6:00-9:00 each evening. Dates could sell out, so buy your tickets sooner rather than later!

Yoda at the end of the evening

And in case you’re wondering, Yoda had a fantastic time. He made lots of friends, and he slept the whole way home!
