For the past couple of years, the Florida Blue Lounge has given guests at Epcot a chance to cool off and relax during at least part of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. This great space has returned for 2024.
The Florida Blue Lounge debuted I believe in 2021 (don’t quote me). It was originally in Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, which at the time hadn’t reopened. The following year it moved to Restaurant Marrakesh, which is where you’ll find it again this year.
It’s free to visit the Florida Blue Lounge, which is why it’s part of my Sunday Savings Series, but there is a catch. You need to have a Guest Pass and show it when you arrive. Don’t worry, the Guest Pass is also free, and it’s easy to get one.
The simplest way to obtain your pass is to open the My Disney Experience App. Type “Florida Blue” into the search feature, and then pick “Florida Blue Lounge presented by Florida Blue”. At the bottom, you’ll see “Learn more about how to access Florida Blue Lounge”. Pick that. You’ll have to leave the app, so next choose “Go To Web” if given that option. Just fill out the form and submit it. Don’t worry that you’ll then be hounded by Florida Blue, they haven’t contacted me once. You’ll then have your pass! You can also find the form here, but you have to have a copy of the pass with you to show at the door.
When you arrive at Restaurant Marrakesh, show your pass to the Cast Member. You only need to fill out the form once the whole season (I took a screenshot of mine) and you only need one pass for your entire family or party. The Cast Member will turn people away if they don’t have a pass, but I recently heard the CM explain to guests how they can get one. In past years I’ve seen plenty of people turned away.
Inside, you can enjoy a cool beverage and a place to sit for a little while. The theme this year centers around “creation”, “hydration”, and “relaxation”. I’ll start with “hydration”. Enjoy ice water, Moroccan Mint Tea, and Cold Brew Coffee. It’s all free.
With “creation” this year you can make a mosaic tile to take home! You’ll pick your tiles and place them in quick-drying plaster. About 10-15 minutes or so later, your unique tile is ready. The mosaic tiles are not available all day, so if you want to participate in this free activity, arrive sooner rather than later.
“Relaxation” is pretty obvious. It’s a large space with plenty of seats and tables. We grabbed food from one of the Global Marketplaces and enjoyed eating in the air conditioning.
There’s one thing about the Florida Blue Lounge that has some people confused. Even though it’s in Restaurant Marrakesh, this is not a carbon copy of the Annual Passholder Lounge a few months ago. There are no characters.
Everything inside the Florida Blue Lounge is free, and you can stay as long as you want. The lounge is open daily from noon until 6:00 until the end of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. It’s nice to have a place to get out of the heat or hide from the rain for a little while.
