If you’ve considered subscribing to Disney+ but want to pay even less, a new option is coming later this year. There is a catch, but it isn’t really all that bad.
Multiple sources have reported that a new tier for Disney+ will be available in late 2022. It will cost less, but there will be ads. The option will roll out internationally in 2023.
We do not yet know how much the new tier will cost. It has also not been said if this will cause the price for ad-free Disney+ to go up.
I think that this is going to be a great new option. I have Hulu with ads, and it isn’t bad at all. If I watched Hulu a lot I might move up a tier, but I don’t watch more than a few times a month, so I don’t mind the ads.
Currently, Disney+ costs $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year, without ads. For me, this is the best deal in streaming. The library is extensive, even though there are a few holes. There is plenty of both classic and new content. I’ve been surprised by how much my husband and I have enjoyed the behind the scenes documentaries. Even if the price is raised when the new tier is rolled out, I’ll continue to be a loyal subscriber.
