If you’re like me, you like little glimpses into the future at Walt Disney World and the other Disney Parks. There is one website that I check fairly often, because it gives a little bit of insight into things that Walt Disney World and Disneyland might have planned.
I’m talking about the Disney Auditions page at Disney Careers. A few weeks back there was a call for trampoline artists. My first thought was that maybe they’re bringing back the monkeys to Festival of the Lion King! A more recent post is a call for dancers for the show. The descriptions call for a woman with aerial ability and a man who can lift. This one mentions Celebration of Festival of the Lion King specifically. The dance routine had all new socially distant choreography when the show reopened last year, it looks like that might be about to change.
Another recent posting was for stilt walkers. (I joked that I was going to apply for that one!) That probably gives us a little bit of insight on Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, which will return on March 9. Stilt walkers will be included.
Right now, there are several listings for character look-alikes at Disneyland. They aren’t all for one type of character, it’s everything from Peter Pan to Thor. Makes me wonder if this has to do with the return of Fantasmic.
Other listings just let me dream a little bit. In the past I’ve seen postings for all of the international parks that make me want to drop everything and go! I’ve also seen listings for Disney Cruise Line. I suspect that a few months from now those will be back, looking for someone who can play a tall sheriff or a stretchy mother.
Disney Auditions is not meant to be a place to find solid, factual information. But it is a good source when looking for insight into what Disney is planning for the future. And if you’re a performer, who knows? You just might find your dream job.
