Walt Disney World’s first statement regarding Hurricane Milton says that they are monitoring the storm. It was released at 1:00 PM on October 6, and is as follows:

Walt Disney World Resort is currently operating under normal conditions. We are closely monitoring the path of the projected storm as we continue to prioritize the safety of our Guests and Cast Members.

This does not mean that it will be business as normal at Walt Disney World. Hurricane Milton is a major storm, and Central Florida is expected to receive a direct hit on Wednesday and into Thursday.

One observation; there are no Disney Park Pass Reservations for Annual Passholders available on Wednesday, October 9. Turning off reservations is usually the first step that Walt Disney World will quietly take.

Please take this storm seriously. It’s better to over-prepare and end up with extra than to take it lightly and end up in trouble.
