Make Your Someday Happen

Disneyland

For decades my family and I have talked about buying an RV and seeing the country “someday”. My grandparents used to talk about it, but their someday never came. After my grandfather died my parents bought an RV, grabbed my grandmother, and took a month-long trip across the country. They made priceless memories that vacation, and my parents had the camper for several years. They loved it.

Niagara Falls

After a series of life-altering events, my family and I said that we either had to buy an RV and take our first trip or stop talking about it. If we didn’t make a move now, we knew that our someday would never come. Even though it was one of the biggest decisions that we’ve ever made, we bought an RV a few weeks ago.

We just got home from the trip of a lifetime. In three and a half weeks we visited 25 states and two countries. We drove over 7,000 miles! Our dog Yoda came along, making it a true family vacation. We all are able to work remotely, so getting time off wasn’t a problem.

A rainbow over the Grand Canyon

On this trip we saw a rainbow over the Grand Canyon. We went to Disneyland, D23, and Santa Monica. We drove through the Rocky Mountains. We visited both the New York and Canadian sides of Niagara Falls. My husband was able to relive some childhood memories when we visited the town where he grew up, his first time back in 30 years. We complained about not having Sheets in Florida. (If you know, you know!) We saw family and friends across the country, with ages ranging from six months to 95 years old. We saw temperatures as low as 50 degrees and as high as 108. Before we left we hoped that it was going to be a great trip, but it by far exceeded our expectations.

We need Sheetz in Florida

I’d like to encourage you, don’t wait for “someday”. Instead, make your someday happen. Was this trip something that we could easily afford? No, not at all. We made a lot of sacrifices, and will continue to do so now. But this was a dream of ours, and we finally made this dream come true. Whatever your dream is, do whatever you have to do to make it come happen. “Someday” won’t come otherwise.
