It’s the final week of 2021, which causes most of us to think back over the past 12 months. It’s been a rough year for many people, myself included. When I look back, though, I see many blessings amongst the pain. If you’ve had a bad year, I hope that you can find some good as well.
While on Sundays I usually shared either contests or ways to save, this week I would like to encourage you to give. I’m not even talking about making a donation to your favorite charity, although that could certainly be a great idea. Instead, I’m talking about a gift that all of us have but some people rarely use; kindness.
It costs nothing to be nice to other people. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about Cast Members the past few months, but I’ve also seen so much abuse towards them. As I shared yesterday, I’ve experienced only one Cast Member who was rude since the theme parks reopened. But I’ve seen too many guests yelling at Cast Members to count. Yelling won’t get anyone anywhere, and it just brings the other person down.
When I talk about giving back, I mean small things. Hold the door open for a young mother with a stroller. Ask the cashier at the grocery store how his day is going. Pay for the next person in line when you buy your morning coffee.
If someone is rude to you, take a deep breath and count to ten. Don’t sink to their level. You never know what pain is behind their attitude.
Have a great rest of 2021, and I hope and pray that 2022 brings you new joys. Thanks for your support, my friends.
