We now know when Disney Genie will roll out at Walt Disney World. The new service will be available on October 19! We don’t yet know the date for Disney Genie at Disneyland, but can assume that it won’t be too much later.
With Disney Genie, you will be able to make the most of your day at Walt Disney World. It will create a personalized itinerary for you, based on what you want to do the most. You’ll be able to see current and forecasted Wait Times, as well as figure out when and where you want to eat. Disney Genie will be complementary.
For an extra $15 a day, you can add Disney Genie+. This will give you access to the Lightning Lanes. You will be able to make one reservation at a time, for the next available time. After you use that, make another Lightning Lane reservation! You don’t have to add Lightning Lane each day of your ticket, just add it on the day of. Lightning Lane will be available for most rides across the four theme parks.
Starting on October 19, you will also be able to purchase Individual Lightning Lane for some attractions. You won’t have to purchase Genie+, these will be an extra charge. The rides at launch will be Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, Rise of the Resistance, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Flight of Passage, and Expedition Everest. These are not included with the regular Lightning Lane, and the price has not yet been released. All Lightning Lane rides will still have a standby line or virtual queue, you won’t have to pay to ride.
I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to try Disney Genie. I probably won’t buy Disney Genie+, but I do look forward to seeing what my personalized suggestions are.
