There are two pieces of Walt Disney World Resort Hotel news that I would like to share with you. The first has to do with Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Although it has reopened to DVC members, it remains closed to everyone else. According to the Walt Disney World website, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain closed until summer, 2021. Starting in October of this year, transportation options from the resort will be modified. This includes the monorail. According to the Orlando Sentinel, guest rooms and the Great Ceremonial House will be updated with colors and textures inspired by Moana. The Disney Vacation Club portion of the resort will remain open.
The other piece of news is quite a bit simpler. If you’ve been to Walt Disney World lately, you might have seen the new tower that is being built in the Epcot Resort Area. It was announced previously that the hotel would be called The Cove. The name of the new tower has been changed, it will instead be called The Swan Reserve. There will be almost 350 new rooms, and like the Swan and Dolphin, it will be operated by Starwood Hotels and Resorts. It is scheduled to open summer, 2021.
