As I write this it’s April 10, 2020. There is so much uncertainty in the world right now, and it’s easy to get down. I’ll admit that I woke up sad this morning, but then I had something interesting show up on my Timehop. One year ago today I reached 500 likes on the Disney Over 50 Facebook page. I thought that was a huge accomplishment.
I consider the official launch date of the Facebook Page and also the Disney Over 50 website March 7, 2018. I picked that date because it’s my mom’s birthday. There is some stuff on the site that is older than that, but that was because I wanted to have some content up and running before officially telling the world about it.
It took me a little over 13 months to reach 500 Facebook likes. Today, I’m at 3,787! I am blown away by what has happened in the past year. I want to thank everyone for your support. At the beginning of 2020 I made it my goal to reach 5,000 likes by the end of the year, and it looks like that very well could happen.
Disney Over 50 is more than a website. It has become a community. There are so many people on Facebook who have been adding pictures and comments lately that I sometimes have missed them. (Instagram as well, but to a lesser extent.) It’s my hope that the pictures and the articles that I add links to will help to brighten people’s days. We could all use a little extra sunshine right about now.
So here we are, one year later. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support. It means more to me than you could ever know. As always, I’m open to suggestions as far as what to add here. I want to talk about what you want to hear about. And Star Wars. I always want to talk about Star Wars…
