The past few years have been hectic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The park has been undergoing a major transformation. Rides and attractions have closed to make way for two new lands. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened at the park in December, but the transformation puzzle still is not complete. There is still one final piece that needs to be set in place, and that piece will be added on March 4.
Okay, enough of the metaphors. I’m of course talking about Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. It’s going to open on March 4, and I am really excited. I’ve talked here about it a bit, but I thought that since it opens in just about two months that this would be a good time to mention it again.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be located in the Chinese Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It will be the first ride at any Disney Park across the planet that will feature the famous couple. The premise is simple, Mickey and Minnie are going on a picnic. Goofy is nearby, and he is the engineer of a train. What could go wrong?
I saw the movie that will lead up to the ride at a media event that I covered last month. It is fun! It features a catchy song called Nothing Can Stop Us Now. The song will also be prominent in the ride itself.
There are some people who think that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a roller coaster, but it isn’t. The ride is being described as “family friendly”, and as far as I know there will not be a height restriction. If I learn anything different I’ll share it with you immediately. Currently it’s listed on the Walt Disney World website as “any height”.
Hidden Mickey fans are going to want to ride repeatedly. This ride will have more Hidden Mickeys than any other ride or attraction on the planet! That is just going to add to the fun.
I loved The Great Movie Ride, but I’m willing to give this new experience a try. After all, since “it was all started by a mouse”, it’s about time that Mickey got his own attraction! Disney’s Hollywood Studios has always been my favorite park, even when there were more construction walls than attractions. I am really excited about Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and I can’t wait to see what the DHS transformation puzzle looks like once it’s complete. Sorry, I had to use the puzzle metaphor one more time.
