Walt Disney World is known as the most magical place on Earth. While it is fun to experience the magic, there is something even more magical about seeing how everything comes about. Disney offers you plenty of opportunities to do just that, with behind the scenes tours.
There is no shortage of tours to choose from. The best place to start is the Events & Tours page of the Walt Disney World website. Browse the selections, there is a good chance that you will find something that you are interested in.
Taking a tour does not mean that you will use up an entire day of your Walt Disney World vacation. A tour such as Behind the Seeds, for example, only takes about 90 minutes or so, but it’s packed full of information. If you’ve ever wondered how they grow Mickey-shaped cucumbers, this might be the tour for you! If you do want something that is longer, there are plenty of options. Backstage Magic, which some people consider the Cadillac of tours, takes seven hours and includes a meal!
There are also tours for all ages, and that will fit pretty much any budget. The age-ranges are clearly marked on the website under the name of each tour. Some tours are seasonal. No matter which tour you choose, sturdy walking shoes and comfortable clothes are recommended. For some tours, shoes with closed toes might be required.
Once you find a tour that you are interested in, your next step is to reserve your spots. Tours can be booked by calling 407-WDW-TOUR (407-939-8687). If you have questions, they will be able to help at that number as well. I have taken a couple of the tours, and I have always had a great time. It’s interesting to see just how much work it can take to create magic.
