Fair warning, I am sometimes the type of person who likes to look for things that aren’t really there. I’m sure that I am doing that right now. But this morning I realized something, and I am sure that I’m looking for things that aren’t really anything.
What I noticed this morning is that Warwick Davis is going to be the celebrity narrator for the Candlelight Processional December 19 through 21. Do those dates sound familiar? December 20 is the official opening date for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, with showings beginning the evening of the 19. That means that Warwick Davis, who has played multiple roles in several Star Wars movies, will be at Walt Disney World when the movie opens.
When The Last Jedi opened two years ago, Warwick Davis was the narrator for the Candlelight Processional. He then also hosted Star Wars: Galactic Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He was in town for two different reasons.
I am not saying that Disney is planning another Galactic Nights or something similar. If that was the case, it would have been announced months ago. As incredible as something like that would be now that Galaxy’s Edge is open, I doubt that it will happen. The timing is still curious to me. It just sounds like too big of a coincidence to really be a coincidence.
It is totally possible that I might be looking for something that isn’t there. It could also be that there’s a behind the scenes reason for Warwick Davis being at Walt Disney World at that time. Who knows? I will keep my eyes and ears open, and if I hear of anything of interest I will let you know.
