Want to go on a picnic? At a recent two day media event that I covered for Disney Dining, there was a lot of excitement about Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Since I am such a huge Star Wars fan I’ve been sharing about the incredible new ride ever since. That said, we learned about more than just the crown jewel of Galaxy’s Edge. There was a lot of talk about another addition that is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I am of course talking about Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
This is Chuuby (and the spelling is correct) The new ride is going to open to the public on March 4, 2020! While that still feels a long way away, it will be here before we know it. We got to see some of the new merchandise that will be sold to celebrate the new ride. There will be t-shirts, hats, pins, ears, mugs, a MagicBand, and even a train whistle. Some of the merchandise will feature a brand new character named Chuuby. Chuuby is a bird who will be featured prominently in the ride’s story.
This t-shirt features the name of the song, in case you forget… We also went inside the Chinese Theater. We did not see the ride, but we did see the movie that will play before the ride. (Cameras were not allowed.) It was filled with the humor and slapstick that you expect from a Mickey short. There is a catchy song called Nothing Can Stop Us Now that will have you humming along. We were told that the song will be played throughout the ride as well.
The mug that will be sold I loved The Great Movie Ride, and it will always hold a piece of my heart. That said, I am really excited about the new ride. This is going to be the first attraction based on Mickey and Minnie in any Disney Park, and it is long overdue. From the glimpse that we were given, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is going to be a hit.
