My Favorite Part of a Disney Cruise Line Vacation

One of three main restaurants

We are back from our Disney Fantasy cruise, and over the next few days I’m going to share some of the details with you. I thought I’d start with one thing that sets Disney Cruise Line above everything else.

I’m talking about Rotational Dining. On Disney Cruise Line, you’re assigned one of three restaurants each night. You’ll also be given a table number. Our cruise was seven nights, so we dined at two of the restaurants twice and the other three times.

Our table!

The best part of Rotational Dining is that your staff comes with you to each restaurant! These people are the best, they will quickly get to know your likes and dislikes. For example, by the third night there was a cup for coffee waiting for me when we were seated.

Our staff took such good care of us. Our server learned that my husband likes salmon, so he’d bring him a piece each night no matter what else he ordered. When I was too full for dessert, they sent back two desserts to the stateroom with me so that I could have something later.

The assistant server also did tricks or riddles. We learned on this cruise to think outside of the box, and we started to figure out the solutions. It was so much fun.

Vegetable Lasagna

Oh yeah, the food was really good too.

Our team became our family for the week that we were there. To show how special these teams are, we one morning ran into a server from our first cruise. He not only remembered us, he told us which ship we had been on and the year that we sailed. We had a chance to catch up, which was a nice surprise.

Our team

There are two restaurants on the Disney Fantasy that cost extra that are supposed to offer top of the line dining experiences. They are Remy’s and Palo. We had no interest in trying to get a reservation for either one, because we didn’t want to miss a night with our team; with our friends.
