A Warning About Avatar Flight of Passage

It’s an incredible ride

If you follow Disney Over 50 on Facebook or Instagram, you might have seen my recent excitement when my daughter and I were at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Avatar Flight of Passage had a ten minute wait. The ride is amazing, but since I’m local I often skip it if the wait is too long. I can just catch it the next time. It takes about ten minutes to walk through the line, so when we saw the Wait Time we didn’t even have to think about whether or not we wanted to ride.

There is one change that Disney has made since the last time I rode, one that is pushing the Wait Time down. Guests are now using every seat. The last time I rode there was an open seat between each party, but that is no longer the case. You will not be six feet away from the person next to you on either side, unless you’re on the end.

I wanted to bring this up in case it’s something that you aren’t comfortable with. One of the things about Flight of Passage is that each seat has a fan that blows directly into the rider’s face. That should keep unwanted particles away from you while you ride, but there will be time before and after when the fan isn’t blowing on you. I just wanted to make you aware of this change.

If everyone follows the rules and keeps their face coverings on, this should not be a problem. Unfortunately, there are still people who will slip them off the second that they think that no Cast Members are looking. Please follow the rules, even if you don’t agree with them. The new strain of Coronavirus that is more contagious has been found in Florida. You don’t want to take chances with your health, or with the health of those around you.
