Some Changes for the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Share
The reopening date for Disney’s BoardWalk is now unknown…

There have been a couple of changes that you need to know about at the Walt Disney World resort hotels. Remember, since we have never experienced anything like our current situation before, things will change from time to time. These changes are meant to offer the guests the best experience possible, while keeping everyone safe. There could be more changes in the future, there is nothing normal about any of this.

The first change has to do with the reopening dates for four of the resort hotels. Two of the dates have been pushed back. The other two have been removed from the reopening list. The dates do not include the Disney Vacation Club portions of the resorts. The changes are as follows:

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is now scheduled to reopen on October 4. The previous date was August 12.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is now scheduled to reopen on November 1. The previous date was August 12.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort has been removed from the reopening list. The previous date was October 1.

Disney’s BoardWalk Resort has been removed from the reopening list. The previous date was October 1.

According to the Walt Disney World website:

While reopening dates were previously shared for Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, these Disney Resort hotels will remain closed until further notice, as the reopening timeline continues to be reevaluated.

The other news has to do with the full service restaurants that are located at the resorts. All guests dining at a resort restaurant will have their temperatures checked before being seated. No one with a temperature of 100.4 or higher after a second check will be allowed to enter. From the Walt Disney World website:

Guests dining in table-service restaurants at Disney Resort hotels will undergo a temperature screening prior to entering the location. As with other locations at Walt Disney World Resort that require temperature screenings before entry, anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will be directed to an additional rescreening. Those with temperatures 100.4 F or above will not be allowed entry; those in their party will not be allowed entry either.

Walt Disney World is constantly reevaluating procedures and protocols, to make your vacation as safe as possible. The rest is up to us. We need to follow the rules that Disney has set in place, and to follow CDC guidelines. That’s the only way that we will get through this, and still be able to experience the Disney magic.
