Lots and Lots of Rumors

The best way to get through this crisis is to follow CDC guidelines…

There are lots and lots of rumors floating around about Walt Disney World right now. Most of these focus on when the parks will reopen, but some also are about what will happen with the parks once they do.

I’ll start with the reopening of the parks. I’m going to type this next sentence in caps and bold, not to yell, but so that it will stand out if someone is skimming. NO ONE KNOWS WHEN THE PARKS WILL REOPEN! Anything that you might have heard is conjecture, even if someone claims to know someone. Bob Iger and Bob Chapek don’t know when the parks will reopen. Coronavirus is an unknown, and we all have to wait to see how it will play out. I’ve heard some people say that the parks will reopen on April 1, while others claim that it will be 18 months or more. These people do not know, they are guessing. Don’t base your hopes and future vacations on someone’s guess.

There are also several rumors about what things will be like when the parks do reopen. There is a lot of talk about virtual queues, temporarily suspending parades and fireworks, and going to all mobile ordering. Again, people claim that they know someone. I have no doubt that these measures have been discussed, but that doesn’t make them fact.

Remember, when I hear a rumor, I will tell you that it is a rumor. I won’t post something as fact unless I know that it is official. In the past rumors have later become official, and I’ve let you know that as well. As soon as we know more about the parks opening or extending the closures, I’ll let you know. I’ll post it on Facebook, plus I’ll update the sticky at the top of this site. Heck, you’ll probably hear me scream for joy, no matter how far away you live. Until then, stay safe, wash your hands, and stop hoarding toilet paper. Make sure you thank your cashiers, First Responders, health care professionals, and anyone else who is working to get us through this. May the Force be with you, and God bless us all.
