Not a Fan of Rope Drop?

Would you rather be here than waiting for a park to open?

I will often mention that arriving at a park before it opens is the best way to be able to hit the rides that you don’t have FastPass+ for, before the lines grow long. I can also understand why many people do not follow that advice. Disney understands as well, which is why a new ticket option is available, now through December 15.

Mid-Day Magic Tickets are the perfect choice for someone who does not want to rope drop. With the new ticket the earliest you will be able to arrive is noon. That means that you will not be able to take advantage of morning Extra Magic Hours, but it also means that you will be able to sleep in. Sounds like a toss up to me.

You can purchase Mid-Day Magic Tickets for two, three, or four days. The base ticket is one park per day, but you can add Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus. The prices vary, depending on the time of year. Two-day base tickets start at $81 per day, three-day at $78 per day, and four-day at $74 per day. Not bad, especially if you weren’t planning on arriving early anyway.

You can learn more about Mid-Day Magic Tickets here. You can also play with the dates, and see what will work the best for you. Even though this new ticket option is currently offered only through the middle of December, I hope that Disney decides to extend it. I can see it becoming quite popular. This is also good news for those who like to rope drop, because some people will decide to wait to arrive, since they won’t be wasting hours.
