On July 25 I attended a Christmas in July Media Event at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. I covered the event. There was a lot of information about what will take place in the theme parks in the upcoming Christmas Season. Things will remain pretty much the same at Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Yesterday I shared with you the changes that will take place during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Today, it’s time to talk about Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Let’s face it, compared to the other three parks Christmas cheer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been lacking for the past few years. Sure, there have been some nice decorations and maybe some extra music, but it has not been on the scale that you find in the other parks. The wow factor just was not there. This year, all of that is going to change. In 2019, Christmas is finally coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

You will notice the difference as soon as you reach Discovery Island. During the day there will be life sized puppets that represent animals that are not found in the park. The fun continues after dark. Luminaries will line the roofs all around the land. There will also be special lighting on The Tree of Life.

That is not all that you will find. Each land within the park will have something special. The expats in Pandora have decided that it is time to bring the season to their new home. In Asia, Diwali will be celebrated. In Africa you will be able to learn about African holiday traditions. In Dinoland U.S.A. Donald’s DinoBash will continue. The characters will get in on the Christmas fun, and there will be a nighttime dance party led by Chip ‘n’ Dale.

It was great to hear the plans for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and I can’t wait to see it for myself. The Christmas festivities at the park will start on November 8. It’s going to be a great time.
