Rafiki’s Planet Watch News!

Good news!

You might remember that last year Rafiki’s Planet Watch closed and there was some confusion about what was going on. Was it closed for good, or was it just for an extensive refurbishment? Fortunately it was the latter, and Rafiki’s Planet Watch is set to reopen on July 11. When it does reopen, there will be an addition.

A new experience called The Animation Experience at Conservation Station will open on July 11. It will allow you to learn to draw some of your favorite characters from The Lion King. Different characters will be featured each session, so if you love to draw you might want to attend more than one. FastPass+ will be available. This is in addition to the other offerings at Conservation Station.

Affection Section will also reopen on July 11. Since Rafiki’s Planet Watch is located away from the rest of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you need a way to get there. That is why the Wildlife Express Train will start to run again on that date as well. When Rafiki’s Planet Watch reopens, expect to see lots of nods to The Lion King.
