A huge addition is coming to HogsmeadeStar Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is not the only new game coming to town. Over at nearby Universal Orlando Resort, an opening date has been announced for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. It will open to the public on Thursday, June 13.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will be a roller coaster, located at Islands of Adventure. It will replace Dueling Dragons, which has been closed since August, 2017. The ride description on the Universal Orlando Resort website states:
For the first time ever, join Hagrid as you fly far beyond the grounds of Hogwarts castle on a thrilling roller coaster ride that plunges into the paths of some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is unique at Universal Orlando Resort because you will find Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, while Diagon Alley is at Universal Studios Florida. The Hogwarts Express runs between the two lands, and the ride is different each way. You need to have a park-to-park ticket in order to ride the Hogwarts Express.
Hogsmeade opened in 2010, and its signature ride allows you to walk through Hogwarts Castle before riding Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Diagon Alley opened four years later, and features the incredible ride Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts. Both parts of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter tend to be packed. Many people say that Disney had to up their game for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge because of the details that are found at Universal. I think it’s a win for all.
