During the summer months Walt Disney World will often have a special theme. It’s a way to keep guests involved and happy when they are not standing in line. Often the theme will have a tie-in to a new Disney film. For 2018, the film is Incredibles 2, and there are special offerings galore. This summer is being called Incredible Summer at Walt Disney World Resort. Here are the basics.

In the Magic Kingdom, you’ll find Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, Frozone, and Edna Mode. It’s the first time that Edna Mode will appear at the Magic Kingdom. They’ll be “taking over” Tomorrowland May 25 through September 3. There will be a dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage, and there are sure to be some surprises thrown in.

At Epcot a different movie franchise will be celebrated. You’ll be able to enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! It will take place five times daily on the America Gardens Theater stage in World Showcase. A seven piece alien band will back up Star-Lord and Gamora, and you might even get a glimpse of Baby Groot. Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! will take place June 9 through August 19.

Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Donald takes over DinoLand U.S.A. with Donald’s Dino-Bash! There will be a late-afternoon dance party, extra characters, and other surprises for all ages. It starts on May 25.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is also getting in on the fun, with Disney H2O Glow Nights. This is a special ticketed event that will take place on Thursday and Saturday evenings from June 21 through August 11.

While it may not be a special summer activity, the most thrilling thing that is happening at Walt Disney World this summer is the opening of Toy Story Land on June 30. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been undergoing a transformation for a few years now, and this is a huge step forward. The park will be packed, but the new land should be “incredible”.
